This Privacy Policy explains what data **Iapetus** (“the Bot”) collects, how it is used, and what choices you have regarding your data.

By using the Bot, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

The Bot collects and stores **only the minimum data needed** for functionality.

This includes:

* **User ID** (to store economy data per user)
* **Guild (Server) ID** (to store economy data and server settings per server)
* **Channel ID** (to store ignored channel settings and command restrictions)

#### 2. What Data We Do NOT Collect

The Bot does **not** collect or store:

* Message content
* Usernames or nicknames
* Discord tags
* Email addresses
* IP addresses
* Payment information
* DMs or private messages
* Any sensitive personal information

### 3. How We Use Stored Data

The stored IDs are used only to:

* Connect economy balances and stats to the correct Discord user
* Allow your economy data (including Berries) to carry across servers
* Store server settings, such as ignored channels
* Prevent the Bot from responding in channels marked as ignored
* Display economy leaderboards, showing each user’s number of Berries and their ranking
* Displaying users berries, including showing how many Berries a user has
* Keep the Bot running properly across different servers

#### 4. Data Sharing

We do **not** sell, trade, rent, or share stored data with third parties.

Data may only be shared if required by law or to comply with a valid legal request.

#### 5. Data Retention

Stored data is kept only as long as needed for the Bot to function.

Data may be removed if:

* The Bot is removed from a server
* A user requests deletion
* The Bot undergoes a reset or database cleanup
* The Bot is permanently discontinued

You may request deletion of your stored data at any time.

The Bot is not intended for users under the minimum age required to use Discord under [Discord’s Terms of Service](https://discord.com/terms). If you are not eligible to use Discord, you may not use this Bot.

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Continued use of the Bot after changes are made means you accept the updated policy.
